“The Linear Park” – A Harmonious Greenway Connecting Communities

Nestled amidst the picturesque landscapes of Royan, Mazandaran Province, Iran, “The Linear Park” serves as a captivating natural sanctuary within Mehregan villag,  a sprawling multi-villa complex which is basically designed by Harirchi Architects. Designed by our innovative team at Contextlogic Architects, this 500-meter-long, 13-meter-wide park winds through the heart of the complex, effortlessly connecting three distinct neighborhoods while promoting social interaction and sustainable living.

Inspired by the simple concepts of walking, sitting, and engaging in social activities, “The Linear Park” features a continuous, linear seating platform as its primary architectural element. This versatile and inviting design allows visitors to gather, relax, and connect with nature and one another, fostering a sense of community and harmony.

Sustainability is at the core of “The Linear Park,” with a strong focus on repurposing and recycling materials from the complex’s construction process. Exposed concrete serves as the main material for the project, complemented by recycled railroad traverse wood that is used to create seating areas and pavements. As a result, 50% of the materials in the park are reused and recycled, demonstrating a commitment to environmental conservation.

Strategically positioned alongside the complex’s main road, “The Linear Park” offers a striking contrast to the surrounding built environment. The park’s proximity to the nearby jungles adds to its allure, providing a lush, natural escape just steps away from the residents’ homes.
